Solar Irrigation Pump: Even today many areas of the country are unirrigated. There is no adequate system of irrigation for crop production. Now farmers can get good income in these areas. For this, the government of Uttar Pradesh has prepared a special strategy, under which farmers will be given the facility to install new solar pumps in their fields or to convert old diesel pumps into solar pumps. At present, there is a plan to connect the farmers of Bijnor, Hathras, Mahoba, Jalaun, Deoria and Lucknow with this scheme.

Through Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) has entered into an agreement with the farmers for a 7 MW solar energy production project based on the project. Under this scheme, farmers will be given the benefit of bank loan and government subsidy for setting up solar pump plants on barren land. By planting solar plants in agriculture, farmers will be able to produce electricity along with crop production, which can be sold to the government or private power companies, although farmers will have two options to take advantage of this scheme.
If the farmer already has a diesel irrigation pump, he can get it converted into a solar pump. Due to this, the cost of diesel will be saved, irrigation will be done for free and the electricity that will be saved will generate additional income.
The second option is also that the farmers can set up a solar pump plant at once, for which the government will bear 90 percent of the cost. In this way, there is a possibility of earning an income of Rs 80,000 annually.
On how much land should solar pump be installed?
Under this project of the UP government, 5 acres of land will be required to set up a solar plant with a capacity of 1 MW. Farmers can also produce electricity by setting up a 0.2 MW plant on 1 acre of land.
This project will solve the problems related to power supply in agriculture. Regarding this project, UPPCL President M Devraj said that the project has already started.
1.5 MW in village Vilaspur of Bijnor, half MW in village Mauhari of Hathras, 1 MW in village Devgaon of Mahoba, 1 MW in village Khuksis of Jalaun, 1 MW in village Bariarpur of Deoria and 2 MW in Parseni of Lucknow. Plants are being set up.

Along with the farmers, from now on weavers will also be given grants to connect with solar energy. According to the report, the government will give 50% subsidy on the total cost of solar plant installation to the general powerloom weavers. Beneficiaries can also take a loan from the bank for the remaining 50% of the expenditure.
The biggest advantage of setting up a solar plant will be that by reducing the cost of electricity, you can earn extra income through electricity production. The Yogi government has decided to give 75% subsidy to SC-ST weavers, the beneficiary will have to bear 25% expenses, for which bank loans can be taken.
