Gnaga Aarti In Kolkata Started: As the time of Lok Sabha elections is coming closer, the political parties have also become active. They are making all out efforts to grab the attention of the voters. In this episode, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started Ganga Aarti on Thursday (March 2) at Kadamtal Ghat in Kolkata. It will be like the Ganga Aarti at the ghats of Banaras.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told that the aarti will be held every evening. In summer the aarti will be at 7 pm, while in winter it will be at 6 pm. A temporary platform will be made for the aarti on the banks of the Hooghly, which will be removed every morning and installed before the aarti in the evening.
Till now such aarti used to happen in Banaras
The kind of aarti that has been started in Kolkata, that type of aarti is done in Banaras. It is being told that last year Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee had seen Ganga Aarti at Varanasi Ghat during the campaign for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Since then, he had ordered Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim to organize Ganga Aarti in Kolkata as well. After completing all the preparations, the aarti started from Thursday.

It has been told that 15 priests will participate in this aarti. If we talk about the time of Aarti, then it will be at 4:30 pm. Apart from Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, Mayor Firhad Hakim and other people were present on the occasion of the first aarti on Thursday. Mamta Banerjee also unveiled an idol of Goddess Ganga before starting the aarti.
That’s why Baje Kadamtala Ghat has been chosen
On March 2, the first aarti took place at Kadamtala Ghat in Kolkata. It was told that in future too the Aarti will be held here. According to sources, this ghat has been selected after the survey. Apart from Baje Kadamtala Ghat, the officers had also considered Babughat and Princep Ghat, but in terms of space and security, Baje Kadamtala Ghat was chosen. Officials say that soon this aarti and the beautiful view of the surroundings will attract a lot of tourists.
