Kailasa Geneva Meeting: A video is being widely shared on social media, in which a representative of the so-called ‘United States of Kailasa (USK)’ is giving a speech on behalf of Indian fugitive Nithyananda at a UN meeting. Now the United Nations has put its stand on this matter. The United Nations Human Rights Office has said that the words of the representative of the fictional country Kailasa will be ignored. The argument given by Kailasa’s representative at public meetings in Geneva last week is ‘irrelevant’.
Confirming the participation of so-called ‘USK representatives’ in two of its public meetings, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said that they were prevented from distributing propaganda material and their speech was ignored. Registration was open to all at this public meeting.
The comments from the OHCHR spokesperson came after videos and photographs went viral on social media, in which a representative of the United States of America of Kailasa is seen speaking on behalf of the fictional country on indigenous rights and sustainable development. Both the programs were organized on 22 and 24 February.
When asked about their participation, an OHCHR spokesperson said that registration for such public events is open to NGOs and the general public. Anyone can submit information to treaty bodies, which use their judgment to determine the credibility of representations received.
Nithyananda is accused of rape in India
Fugitive Nithyananda is wanted in India on several charges of rape and sexual assault, although he has always denied these allegations. Afraid of going to jail, he fled India overnight and claimed to have a separate country of his own.
This is how ‘Kailaasa’ was made
Fugitive Nithyananda had fled India in 2019. After this he established his ashram on an island at a place called ‘Kailasa’. The exact location of Kailasa is yet to be confirmed. But Nityananda has made his own empire here. Not only this, he has made his own passport, flag of Kailasa. Along with this, Nityananda also has his own bank called ‘Reserve Bank of Kailasa’.
