El Salvador New Prison: The President of the Central American country El Salvador, Naib Bukele, has launched a campaign against the notorious mafia gangs. More than 60 thousand members of the notorious gangs spread across the country were arrested, due to which the space in the jail has reduced. Now President Bukele has prepared a new mega prison, which can hold 40,000 prisoners. He has shared the video of this jail.
President Bukele said that a large number of suspected gang members have been transferred to the recently opened ‘Mega Prison’. While sharing a video on Twitter, he informed that 2000 notorious gang members have been sent to the new jail. This jail has been named Center for the Prevention of Terrorism (CECOT).

Sharing a video of the inmates being taken to the new prison, he wrote in Spanish, “In one operation we transferred the first 2000 gang members to Center CECOT. This will be their new hideout, where they will live for decades and harm the public.” Will not be able to reach.”
It is seen in the video that prisoners wearing white shorts and shaved heads are seen running towards the cell. Tattoos are visible on the body of many prisoners, which seem to be related to their gang. Further in the video, a convoy of prisoners is seen going towards the CESOOT by car. This is the first batch of prisoners who have reached the jail with a capacity to hold 40,000 prisoners.

The campaign started last year
Last year, President Naib Bukele, with the help of his allies in the government, passed a law in Congress following a steady increase in the country’s killings due to gang wars. Due to this some constitutional rights were suspended. After the law, the government had got rights like arresting without warrant, investigating private communication.
Human rights organizations have opposed these laws and accused the government of arresting the innocent. However, Bukele has got the support of the citizens of the country for this.
