Input subsidy is given to the farmers from time to time. New minimum support prices are also announced every season. State governments also contribute in this. In this episode, the Khattar government of Haryana has also given very good news to the farmers.
For a long time, farmers were demanding an increase in the rate of sugarcane, following which the price of sugarcane has been increased by Rs 10 per quintal. Now farmers will be able to sell the sugarcane produced from their fields at the rate of Rs.372 per quintal.
instead of 8 rupees increased the rate by 10 rupees
The Haryana government has increased the price of sugarcane by Rs. In the last season, sugarcane was procured from the farmers at the rate of Rs.362 per quintal, but from now on farmers will be able to earn good income by selling sugarcane at Rs.372 per quintal i.e. Rs.10 extra.
Let us tell you that the crushing of sugarcane in Haryana is more than in Punjab. Giving information about the new price of sugarcane, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that for a long time there was a demand from the farmers to increase the prices of sugarcane. In some meetings, talks were also held with farmer representatives, scientists, government departments and private sugar-cane mills. Keeping this conversation in mind, the committee has presented a report, in which it has been suggested to increase the new prices of sugarcane by Rs 8 and up to Rs 370 per quintal.
Last year, the price of sugarcane was Rs 362 per quintal, but after considering the proposal of this committee, the Khattar government has decided to increase it by Rs 10, which means that from now on, sugarcane will be sold at Rs 372 per quintal in Haryana and will be sold in sugar mills. Sugarcane will be procured at this rate.
Why increased the demand for increasing the rate of sugarcane
For information, let us tell you that the Punjab government had also increased the prices of sugarcane in the past, after which the farmers of Haryana also started demanding to increase the rate. To fulfill these, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also formed a special committee in the Legislative Assembly under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister JP Dalal. This committee had submitted its final report to Chief Minister Khattar.
According to the Haryana government, the state’s sugarcane mills are in loss of Rs 5,393 crore. Despite this, last year also the price of sugarcane was increased to Rs 362 per quintal and now this year also the government has increased it by Rs 10 per quintal instead of the proposed increase of Rs 8 per quintal.
