Elderly Woman Murder: An elderly woman was murdered by entering inside the house in Karawal Nagar Extension, Dayalpur police station area of Delhi. The information about this incident was received by the police on Sunday (January 29) morning. Along with tying her hands and feet, a cloth was found stuffed in her mouth. At the same time, the same was scattered inside the house. The deceased was identified as Shanti Devi. After preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case of robbery and murder.

According to information received from the police, 88-year-old Shanti Devi lived alone in house number 188, street number four, Karawal Extension. The woman’s husband has died. He has three sons. In which two live in Sitaram Bazar and one in Mukherjee Nagar area. The people of the neighborhood say that on the morning of January 29, the person who put the newspaper reached their house. He saw that one side door of the house (which was always closed) was open.
When in doubt, he informed the neighbors about the matter. The people around reached the spot and shouted, but there was no response from inside. After this, calls were made to his sons but there the phone was not picked up. Eventually the police was informed. When the police reached the spot, they found an elderly woman lying dead on the bed in the house.
His hands and feet were tied and a cloth was stuffed in his mouth. Everything inside the house was scattered. The wardrobe was also broken. It was clear that the house had been ransacked. District crime team and FSL team were called and the spot was inspected. The dead body of the woman was sent to the mortuary of GTB Hospital for postmortem. After investigation, the police have registered a case of robbery and murder at Dayalpur police station.
Street light was cut near the house
People around say that on the night of January 28, there was a vigil near the place where the incident took place. The loudspeakers were playing very loudly. The old woman’s house opens into two lanes. There is no CCTV camera around it either. People also told that a day earlier someone had cut the wire of the street light near the house.
That’s why it was dark at that place. A maid works at the woman’s house, who goes back after work. Police say that many teams are engaged in catching the miscreants involved in the incident. The police suspect that some knower may have a hand in this incident. The case is being investigated.
