Amit Shah on Cyclone Biporjoy: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised the Modi government and all the security forces for the preparations made to deal with Cyclone Biparjoy. He reached the shelter home in Jakhau, Kutch on Saturday (June 17) to meet the people who were brought safely. He then said, “After the news of the cyclone came, there was a lot of apprehension in the minds of the people. When this cyclone came with a speed of 140 km per hour, no one died in it. This is a classic example of teamwork. .”
Amit Shah further said, “In view of the danger of Biparjoy, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held a review meeting, in which separate meetings, video conferencing and exchange of information were held to alert the administration. When the cyclone hits the coast with a speed of 140 km and we review it on the third day, then it is known that not a single person has lost his life, then there is satisfaction in working.”
Praising the security forces, Amit Shah said that 19 teams of NDRF, 13 teams of SDRF and Reserve 2 battalions worked together. Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, BSF, State Reserve Police, State Police have worked together. Digi sets have been installed in mobile towers, hospitals wherever there is no electricity. 1 thousand 133 teams have been engaged to restore electricity. 400 more teams will be added to them from tomorrow.”
Congratulations to the state government
Shah said that only 47 people were injured. The condition of none of them is serious. He congratulated the Gujarat government for all these efforts. Prime Minister Modi himself kept an eye on the situation till 1-1 in the night. There was better coordination between the central and state government. Electricity has been restored in 1600 villages. Electricity will be restored in all the villages by 6 pm on June 20.
