Egypt Oldest Mummy: Egyptian archaeologists have unearthed the world’s oldest mummy in a Pharaonic tomb near the capital Cairo. This mummy is completely a complete mummy. Jahi Hawass, director of the archaeologist team, told on Thursday (January 26) that the 4,300-year-old mummy is under a 5-meter shaft.
The mummy was found near the Step Pyramid at Saqqara Jahi of the Fifth and Sixth Dynasties of the Old Kingdom. The mummy is of a man. Its name is Hekasheps. The mummy is decorated with gold leaf. The mummy was in a limestone sarcophagus, which was sealed in mortar.

Archaeologist Hawass said, “I put my head inside the sarcophagus (stone tomb) to see.” I saw that there was a beautiful mummy of a man, which was completely covered in layers of gold. One of the other tombs found there was that of Khunnamjedf. He was a priest during the reign of Unas, the last Pharaoh of the Fifth Dynasty. Apart from this, there was also an inspector of the Khunnamjedaf officials and supervisor of the nobles. These were decorated with pictures of daily life.

Hawass said that one of the tombs present there belonged to Mary. Used to protect my secret information and was an assistant to the great leader of the palace. The priestly title of secret guard was conferred on a senior palace official, conferring power and authority to perform special religious rituals. A third tomb belonged to Pharaoh Pepi. That was of a priest in the pyramid complex and the fourth tomb was of a judge and writer named Fetek.
Mustafa Waziri, head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, said the tomb at Fetek contains the largest collection of sculptures ever found in the area. Several sculptures were found among the tombs, including one representing a man and his wife and several servants.
