PM Modi wished BS Yediyurappa: Four-time Chief Minister of Karnataka and senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa turned 80 on Monday (February 27). On Yeddyurappa’s 80th birthday, PM Modi gave him special respect. In fact, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Shivamogga airport on Monday (February 27) during his visit to Karnataka. During this, former CM Yeddyurappa was also present on the stage.
PM Modi folded hands twice on the stage in honor of Yeddyurappa and bowed down to greet him. After this, he also got the former CM honored by the public. The Prime Minister felicitated Yeddyurappa by lighting the flashlight of his mobile from the people who reached the meeting. PM Modi said, “He has spent 50-60 years of public life, his entire youth for an idea.”
PM praised Yeddyurappa
In praise of Yeddyurappa, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today is special for another reason, because it is the birthday of Yeddyurappa, a popular leader of Karnataka. I wish him good health and long life.” He further said, “Yeddyurappa spent his entire life in the welfare of the poor and farmers. People should take inspiration from the speech he gave in the assembly in the past. Despite his achievements, he is a very down to earth and humble person. There is always inspiration.”

Torch lit in honor of Yeddyurappa
After this, he got Yeddyurappa honored by turning on the flash light of the mobile from the people who reached the meeting. The Prime Minister said, “I have a request to all of you. If you all have a mobile phone, then light its flashlight and pay respect to Yeddyurappa ji. Yeddyurappa’s importance in Karnataka?
Explain that due to 18 percent of the population in Karnataka, the Lingayat community is a big vote bank for every party. Yeddyurappa comes from the Lingayat community and it was because of his hold in this community that the BJP was able to form the government in Karnataka for the first time in 2008. The Lingayat community was furious over the issue of Yeddyurappa’s removal from the post of CM. Yeddyurappa had recently announced his retirement from politics. Despite this, it seems that the party is trying to present him as a poster boy.
