Amanatullah Khan Case: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Amanatullah Khan got a big relief from the court on Wednesday (March 1) in the matter of opposing the bulldozer action in South Delhi. The Rouse Avenue Court acquitted Amanatullah and others from the charge.
The Rouse Avenue Court has acquitted the accused due to lack of evidence. The court canceled the order of 20 January 2023. Charges under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of his public functions), 353 (assault or criminal force) in the court’s January 20 order were fixed. No evidence was found to prove this.
What did the court say?
The court said in its order that the protesters were demonstrating peacefully. While raising slogans against the Delhi Police, administration and BJP, he was not carrying any sharp weapons. The court said that the constitution of the country allows the citizens of India to demonstrate peacefully.
What is the matter?
The prosecution did not provide any explanation as to why there was no video recording of the alleged incident where people were pelting stones. The court said that there is no video of the time of stone pelting. Seeing this, Amanatullah Khan is relieved. Let us tell you that in May 2022, Amanatullah and others were accused of rioting and pelting stones at policemen in protest against the encroachment action in South Delhi.
