Sonam Wangchuk Fast: Renowned scientist Sonam Wangchuk of Ladakh has started a campaign to save the Himalayas. Earlier, Wangchuk has made big allegations against the lieutenant governor of Ladakh. He said that only the lieutenant governor’s arbitrariness prevails in Ladakh. No work has been done in the state for the last three years. Sonam Wangchuk has been on fast for the last 5 days with a campaign to save the ecosystem of Ladakh.
He is fasting to save Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. For this, putting a video post on Twitter, he has requested the people that the people of his area should also fast on the last day of the fast. He wrote that to show solidarity with Ladakh and its surroundings, everyone should fast for a day in their area. Tomorrow i.e. Monday (January 30) is the sixth and last day of Sonam Wangchuk’s fast.

Sonam Wangchuk of Ladakh has called upon all the people in his video to join his campaign on 30th January. Regarding this, the social workers of Himachal will keep a one-day fast on January 30 in their support. These people will fast in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Ridge Maidan in Shimla. This demonstration will go on peacefully. The name of this campaign has been kept ‘Save the Himalayas, secure your future’.

Social worker scientist Sonam Wangchuk in Ladakh has expressed concern about the increasing trend of industries and tourists in the state. He believes that Ladakh and other Himalayan areas should get protection from industrial pressure. Because, due to the increasing industries, it is affecting the environment. Pollution is increasing in the surrounding areas.
