The Indian Army took part in the relief and rescue operations for the victims under this operation to help the victims of the human tragedy caused by the earthquake in Turkey-Syria. For this operation, more than 140 passports were prepared overnight. Not only this, the team of the rescue team stayed there for about 10 days. In this period of crisis, there was even a problem of taking a bath there. In such a situation, for 10 days, the soldiers of the Indian Army were engaged in helping the Turkish people by becoming angels who cared for themselves.
Among the jawans who went with the rescue team, a female jawan had left her one and a half year old twin children. The picture of Turkey sobbing from the devastation is still enshrined in the hearts of the soldiers who returned after completing the difficult mission and also a thought whether we could have saved some more lives as well.

There is also a thought in his heart about the love he received from the Turkish people, how when the jawans needed vegetarian food, the people there made it available to them even in such difficult times. Deputy Commandant Deepak remembers one such person, Ahmed, whose wife and three children were killed in the earthquake, yet he arranged for a vegetarian meal for Deepak. Whatever apple or tomato that Ahmed had as a vegetarian, he used to bring it to Deepak.
Turkish people said – Thank you India
This operation may have been for a few days, but its memory will remain on both sides for a long time. When the Indian soldiers were returning, many Turkish citizens became emotional while seeing them off. His eyes welled up while thanking him for his Indian friends.
To help the earthquake victims, the team sent from India under Operation Dost started its operation on 7 February. When the Indian team returned home last week, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi received him at his official residence 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.
Foreign Ministry team worked overnight
On February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake caused severe devastation in Turkey and its neighboring country Syria. So far more than 44,000 people have died. Thousands of buildings and houses have been destroyed. Seeing the horrors of the earthquake, India had decided to send relief and rescue team immediately. But it was not like sending aid teams to any part of the country. Passport and Visa required. For this, the Ministry of External Affairs came forward. NDRF IG NS Bundela told that the Consular Passport and Visa Department of the Ministry of External Affairs prepared the passports overnight. Hundreds of documents were completed within a few hours.
Diplomatic passports were ready for the 152-member contingent to travel abroad for the time being. On reaching Turkey, its team was given an arrival visa. After this the team was deployed in Noordagi and Hatay.
There were five women rescuers, including constable Sushma Yadav (32). She went abroad for the first time in a disaster operation. During this, she had to leave behind her 18-month-old twins but had no other option. She says I thought we will not, so who will? I left my twin children with my in-laws. This was the first time the children were being away for such a long time.
