Cotton prices had fallen in Maharashtra, Punjab, now due to this there may be a bumper jump in prices

Cotton Price Hike: Last year was not good for the farmers. The crops of the farmers were destroyed due to floods, rains and drought. In Bihar, Jharkhand, the crops had come under the grip of drought. At the same time, the rains at the end of the Kharif season caused a lot of damage to the paddy. When there was relief from the disaster, the pest disease started ruining the crops. Cotton prices have deteriorated in Maharashtra and Punjab. A decline of more than Rs 2 thousand per quintal was registered. But in the new year, farmers are getting relief regarding the prices of cotton.

Cotton prices may increase this year

This time too, farmers are hopeful that cotton prices may increase in March-April itself. Farmers are also waiting till March-April. Farmers say that a rise of more than Rs 11 thousand per quintal can be registered in the prices of cotton. It has been told that those who do not have a place to store cotton. They are selling cotton in the market at cheap prices.

Now cotton is being sold at this price

The central government has fixed the minimum support price of cotton at Rs.6380. Farmers are calling this MSP insufficient. Farmers say that even the cost of cotton cannot be recovered properly on this much amount. Farmers are walking by stopping cotton. Due to less cotton going in the market, the price has improved slightly and cotton is being sold at Rs 7500 to 8200 per quintal. Farmers are hopeful that if the demand for cotton will increase in the coming days, its prices will also improve.

Because of this the prices of cotton were reduced

The important reason behind the reduction in the price of cotton was also revealed. Actually, due to Corona, India had banned exports from China. China is one of the major exporters of cotton to India. Now a crisis has arisen in front of the farmers that the farmer was born the same way as every year. But due to non-export of cotton, it could not be consumed. Farmers had to sell cotton at half price. For this reason, its price also fell rapidly. The prices of cotton were simultaneously recorded a reduction of up to Rs 2000 per quintal.
