Indian submarine: The presence of Indian submarine in Oman remains a matter of discussion. Actually, Indian Navy’s Kalvari class submarine INS Vela is present at Salalah port in Oman. According to the information, on 28 February the Indian submarine had entered Salalah port. Earlier the Indian submarine was present at the port of Indonesia.
Significantly, to ensure better cooperation with friendly countries, the Indian Navy actively deploys its warships to enhance security in the Indian Ocean. Regarding this, an official said on Thursday that the Indian Navy is closely associated with all maritime neighbors to increase cooperation in the Indian Ocean region. In this series, Indian naval ships and submarines regularly stop at the ports of friendly countries.
The Indian submarine present at the Salalah port of Oman must have caused a wrinkle on the forehead of China and Pakistan. Although the relationship between India and Oman is not new. An official said that the visit of INS Vela to Salalah reflects the strong, deep-rooted, multi-layered and mutually beneficial relations between India and Oman. Earlier, the Indian Navy’s conventional submarine INS Sindhukesari first stopped at the dockyard in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Why did India deploy the submarine?
India has steadily expanded its defense and security cooperation with friendly countries, many of which are engaged in disputes with China in the South China Sea. In recent years, India has signed logistics support agreements with several countries to enhance access and sustenance of military assets while deployed away from home.
