Israeli army attacked in West Bank, 6 Palestinians killed and 50 injured

Israel-Palestine: The Palestinian Health Ministry said on Wednesday (February 22) that six Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli army attack in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus. The ministry said in a statement that six people aged between 23 and 72 were killed during the operation to capture Nablus.

Palestinian health officials told that about 50 people have been admitted to the hospital after being shot. The Israeli army confirmed that its police force was operating in the northern West Bank city, but a spokesman declined to provide further details when contacted by AFP.

The encounter lasted for three hours

An AFP journalist saw Israeli forces firing tear gas at Palestinians, who burned tires and threw stones at an army vehicle. The journalist informed that after three hours the Israeli army withdrew from the city. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that of those its doctors treated, 45 people had bullet wounds and 250 people were having trouble breathing due to tear gas.

Five Palestinians were killed in the last Israeli attack on Nablus. Israeli troops targeted the Lions Den, a local terrorist group. In a message posted on Telegram on Wednesday (22 February), the Palestinian group said its fighters were engaged in a fight of honor against Israeli forces.
