Pawan Khera’s interim bail will continue in the case of comment on PM Modi


Pawan Khera Row: Prime Minister Narendra Modi And the interim relief given to Congress leader Pawan Kheda in the case of his father’s indecent remarks will continue. The hearing in the Supreme Court on Kheda’s petition has been postponed to Friday (March 3). In the last hearing, the court had given a big relief to Kheda. Kheda, who was arrested in Delhi by the Assam Police, was given interim bail even before going to Assam.

In the next hearing, the Supreme Court will consider transferring a total of 3 FIRs registered in Assam and UP to one place. Assam and UP government sought time from the court to file reply. For this reason the hearing has been postponed. In fact, on February 23, Pawan Kheda, who was going to Raipur for the Congress convention, was arrested by the Assam Police after getting him off the flight. After this, on the petition of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the Supreme Court gave relief by giving interim bail till 28 February.

3 FIRs on Pawan Kheda

The Supreme Court had ordered clubbing of 3 FIRs registered against Pawan Kheda in UP’s Lucknow, Varanasi and Assam. The court had also issued notices to the UP and Assam governments regarding this. On February 23, following the Supreme Court’s direction, Delhi’s Dwarka court granted interim bail to Kheda on a bond of Rs 30,000. This decision was given on the demand of transit remand of Assam Police.

Kheda was reprimanded by the Supreme Court

The court had given relief to Pawan Kheda but reprimanded him and also warned him. The Chief Justice had said, “We have given you protection (from arrest), but there should be some level of rhetoric.” On this, Kheda’s lawyer Singhvi had said that we also do not support such statements.

Why was the FIR registered against Pawan Kheda?

In fact, Pawan Khera had said on the Hindenburg report on February 20, “When Atal Bihari Vajpayee can form the JPC, what problem does Narendra Gautam Das Modi have?” After this he had asked the people standing around that Gautam Das or Damodar Das. Then, he said that even though the name is Damodar Das. His work is of Gautam Das. However, he later clarified that he had confusion regarding the name of the Prime Minister.
