PM will hold a huge rally in Dimapur at 10 am, while PM will hold a roadshow in Shillong at 12 pm while PM will address a huge public meeting at Kornad Sangma’s stronghold in Tura at 2 pm. Nagaland BJP spokesperson Sapralu Nyekha said that the Prime Minister will address an election rally in Dimapur, the commercial city of Nagaland.
Election campaign will end at 4 pm on Saturday
Friday’s campaign will be Modi’s first and last before the February 27 assembly elections in Meghalaya and Nagaland where campaigning will end at 4 pm on Saturday. Earlier, the Prime Minister addressed three election rallies in Tripura where assembly elections were held on February 16.
BJP has won all 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya.
The NDPP (Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party) and the BJP had fought the 2018 elections in Nagaland with a 40:20 seat-sharing formula and the alliance partners had decided to go ahead with this understanding in July last year. BJP has fielded its candidates on all 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya. The party contested 55 seats in Tripura and allotted five seats to its ally, the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura. The counting of votes in all the three states of the Northeast will take place on March 2.
