Shri Jagannath Yatra Tourist Train: Shri Jagannath Yatra tourist train is going to start its 8-day journey from today. This tourist train will cover famous pilgrimage sites of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The tourist train focused on Odisha’s Puri temple will be run under the ambitious ‘Bharat Gaurav Initiative’ of the Railways. Railway officials informed that this AC train will depart from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station today. There are total 10 AC three-tier coaches in this train, in which 600 passengers can travel. Tourists will have the option to board the train from Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur and Lucknow stations.

The first stop of the journey will be Varanasi. In Varanasi, tourists will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the corridor connecting it and watch the ‘Aarti’ performed on the banks of the Ganges. After this, the train will again move to Jasidih railway station in Jharkhand, from where tourists will proceed to visit Baidyanath Dham temple. Then it will proceed for the journey to Puri, where complete arrangements will be made to stay for two nights in hotels. In Odisha, tourists will visit the Jagannath Temple and then be taken by buses to the Sun Temple in Konark and the temples during the Kalinga period in Bhubaneswar.

Bihar’s Gaya will be the last destination. Here tourists will visit Vishnupad temple. The train will return to Delhi on the 8th day of its journey i.e. on February 1. During this entire journey, ‘Shri Jagannath Yatra Tourist Train’ will cover a distance of about 4000 kms. Not only this, all the tourists boarding the train will be given freshly cooked vegetarian food for consumption on board. Along with the entertainment of tourists, an infotainment system has also been installed in the train for public announcement. Railway officials told that the facilities of CCTV cameras and security guards will be deployed in each coach.

How much will be the rent?

Bharat Gaurav tourist trains are being run by IRCTC, an undertaking of Indian Railways, for the purpose of showcasing religious places across the country. IRCTC has fixed the fare of each person for this journey of 8 days with an initial price of Rs 17,655.
