Actually, Glenn Maxwell will not be able to take part in the four-match Test series to be played between India and Australia. He has expressed regret for this.

Veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell said that not playing in the upcoming tour of India due to injury will haunt me for the rest of my life. Maxwell suffered a serious injury to his left leg in November last year during a friend’s birthday party. This incident sidelined him from the game for three months.

Glenn Maxwell commentating on ‘Fox Cricket’ during a ‘Big Bash League’ match, said, “It will probably cost me the rest of my life. It’s good to have the opportunity to watch my teammates play, especially (in India)”. I think they (Australia) have found the best team to tour India.”

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin on February 09 with the first Test in Nagpur. After this, Australia has to play in New Delhi (17 to 21 February), Dharamsala (1 to 5 March) and Ahmedabad (9 to 13 March).

Australia’s Test team has not won any Test series in India since 2004. The Test will be followed by three ODIs – Mumbai (March 17), Visakhapatnam (March 19) and Chennai (March 22). Maxwell will not be able to play in the Test series, but he can return to the team for the limited overs series.
