The Union Budget is to be presented in the country on 1 February. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sita Raman will present the budget in the House. According to media reports, discussion is going on to increase the amount received by farmers from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. This scheme has also been discussed during the preparation of the Union Budget. Regarding this, inputs were sought from other ministries including the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the increase in payment. It was asked that what can be the benefits of the scheme on economic-political. Inputs have also been given regarding this.
What was in the offer?
According to the news coming in the media, the central government was engaged in the preparations for the budget for the last several days. In this, the proposal was related to the increase in the installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. All the proposals were evaluated at the level of senior officers. The suggestion to increase the installment received by the farmers was also discussed in the proposal. Till now the farmers get an installment of Rs 2000-2000 three times in a year. Every year 6 thousand rupees reach the farmers’ account. There is a possibility of increasing the annual installment of 6000 to 8 thousand rupees. Experts say that if the installment amount is increased by Rs 2000, then there will be an additional burden of Rs 22000 crore on the budget. Farmers must do e-KYC to get installment
It is difficult to get installment in January. In such a situation, the farmers are hopeful that in February 2023, the farmers are expected to get the installment. However, no official announcement has been made by the Central Government regarding the release of the installment. Central government officials say that if farmers have installment water, they must get e-KYC done. It is necessary to update other documents including Bhulekh updation. Farmers whose documents have not been updated. They will not be able to get the installment. Under this scheme, the central government sends funds directly to the farmers’ account.
