Surgical Strike Row: Evidence is still being sought regarding the surgical strike done by the Indian Army in Pakistan. Recently, Congress leader Digvijay Singh had asked for evidence during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Jammu and Kashmir, so now another party leader Rashid Alvi has said that if there is a video of the surgical strike, then it should be released. Regarding this, BJP has demanded his resignation.
According to the news of India Today, Rashid Alvi said, “We have full faith in our security forces but cannot trust the BJP government. The government says that there is a video of the surgical strike. ..So what is wrong in this that Digvijay Singh is demanding to show this video. We are not asking for proof of surgical strike but the government should show the video which it claims about.
‘Doubt on the intention of the BJP government’
He further said, “I am not questioning the credibility of the surgical strike. I am questioning the contradictory claims of those in power. Amit Shah has claimed different numbers while Yogi Adityanath Has made different claims about the surgical strike. He also said that the Congress has respect for the army.
Rahul Gandhi rejected Digvijay Singh’s statement
When Rashid Alvi was asked that Rahul Gandhi has rejected Digvijay Singh’s statement, he said that Rahul Gandhi has also said the same thing that we do not need proof of surgical strike. Even Digvijay Singh will not agree with him. The question is which statements of BJP leaders should be trusted. The BJP works in such a way that the army is an extension of the BJP. The army belongs to the country, not the BJP.
BJP hit back
In retaliation, the BJP has demanded the resignation of Rashid Alvi. BJP leader Shahzad Poonawala said, “No, this was not a personal statement of Digvijay Singh on the surgical strike. Rashid Alvi is also here – senior Congress leaders are also doubting the bravery of our heroes like others in Congress. To attack is the institutional approach of the Congress. Will Congress sack Digvijay Singh and Rashid Alvi?
