Rice Price In India: The prices of wheat and flour are continuously being discussed in the country. The central government is continuously taking steps to control the price of wheat. The central government has also banned the export of wheat to control the prices. It is expected that soon a reduction in the prices of wheat and flour will be recorded. Meanwhile, news has come that shortage of rice can also be registered in the coming days. The Central Government has issued instructions to all the State Governments regarding this.
Can buy rice for Rs 34 per kg
The central government has issued a new guideline regarding the purchase of rice. Guidelines have been issued for all the states that state governments can buy rice from Food Corporation of India (FCI) at Rs.3400 per quintal. States will get rice at Rs 34 per kg. The Central Government has said that many schemes are being run for the development of the poor in the state. Rice can be purchased from FCI at the same rate for the operation of these schemes.
Fixed price of different types of rice
The guidelines of the central government are for the purchase of rice in 2023. In this, the prices of different varieties of rice have been fixed. According to this rate, FCI will sell rice to the state governments. But it has not yet been decided that when and how much rice will be given to which state. FCI has full authority for this, that means FCI will sell paddy to any state it wants.
There will be no need for e-auction
Generally, for transparency, the goods are purchased through central and state government auctions. But no tender or e-auction has been made necessary for this paddy purchase. Fortified rice will also be present in the rice given to the states from FCI. With the consumption of this rice, government schemes can be implemented in the states.
Company will buy rice through e-auction
Companies in the country buy rice to make ethanol under the bio fuel policy. Instructions have been given in the new guideline that under this process, companies will be able to buy rice only through e-auction. In this, the price of rice has been fixed at Rs 2000 per quintal. If the state governments buy fortified rice from EPFCI, they will have to pay an additional Rs 73 per quintal.

The central government is keeping an eye on the paddy procurement going on in the country. According to the guidelines, states where paddy procurement is more. Private companies cannot buy rice there. Only ethanol making companies are exempted under this rule. In states where paddy procurement is less or paddy procurement is far behind the target, private companies will buy rice there. E-auction will have to be done to buy rice. Its permission will be received from the Ministry of Food.
