K Subrahmanyam: Several opposition leaders on Wednesday targeted External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar over his comments on China and the BBC documentary. Also reminded him about his father’s statement on the Gujarat riots. The Congress alleged that the External Affairs Minister had demoralized the country’s army by one of his remarks in an interview.
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate claimed that Jaishankar Azad is the most failed foreign minister of India. He told the media, "Foreign Minister S. What Jaishankar has said about China in an interview is worrying. Jaishankar may have tried to insult Rahul Gandhi, but in reality he has insulted the Indian Army and India’s territorial integrity."

Supriya claimed, "20 of our soldiers have been martyred in Galvan, but our country’s foreign minister is saying that we are a small economy, so we cannot attack a big economy like China." Some opposition leaders attacked Jaishankar over his remarks on the BBC documentary. According to reports, Jaishankar targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for airing the documentary.

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Jawahar Sarkar said, "It is strange that Jaishankar has come to know about his grudge against the Gandhi family now, when he served in their government with utmost loyalty and held the best positions. Is it amnesia or his rapprochement with the BJP due to his promotion as External Affairs Minister?"
S Jaishankar’s father’s earlier statement
He said in another tweet, "S Jaishankar’s father K. Subramaniam had said that ‘religion was murdered in Gujarat (2002). Those who failed to protect innocent citizens are guilty of unrighteousness… Had Ram been there, he would have fired his arrows against the ‘Asura’ rulers of Gujarat.’ Shame on you for serving the demon."

Supriya Shrinet also K. Jaishankar was targeted for Subramaniam’s comments. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra claimed, "The External Affairs Minister perhaps forgot that his son worked for the ‘Aspen Institute’ funded by American billionaire George Soros."
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned that if the government has nothing to hide on China then why is it running away from discussion in Parliament? He said that the government should accept the truth.
